Arowana Fish

Lets start by clearing up the name of this amazing fish species, although occasionally misspelled, you will sometimes hear this fish referred to as Arawana, Arrowana, Arwana, even Arovana and of course commonly called the Dragon Fish due to their visual  resemblance to the Chinese Dragon the correct name is the Asian Arowana.

The Asian Arowana comprises several varieties of freshwater fish in the genus Scleropages. Although some experts will further separate varieties into different species, most consider the different types to belong to a single species, Scleropages formosus.

The Asian Arowana as the name suggests is native to Southeast Asia.
